SCHOLARSHIPS

Club Scholarship

In 1980, the Student Loan Fund committee recommended that $5,000 be taken from the Student Loan Fund to establish the Scholarship Fund. It was decided that scholarship(s) in the amount of $1,000 per academic year would be awarded to upper class or graduate student(s) who have completed at least two long semesters at Texas A&M University and is from the Federation designated area assigned to this Club.

Information regarding the scholarship is released to area media and other various social sites in February of each year regarding the availability of the scholarship.  The application forms can be found on our website at sanangelo.aggiemoms.org and there is a link on the San Angelo Area Aggie Moms Facebook page.  The Scholarship Committee will make the decision of the scholarship recipient(s) for the current academic year. Once the choice has been made, the recipient will be notified and then the remaining applicants will be advised.

The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the Texas A&M University Fiscal Department to be applied to the student’s account prior to the Fall Semester and Spring registration.

Endowed Scholarship

In 2004, San Angelo Aggie Moms made a huge effort to raise the funds necessary to set up an Endowed Scholarship through the San Angelo Area Foundation.  Because of the matching offer made by the San Angelo Health Foundation, each dollar (up to $10,000) raised, then matched by the Club, would be matched dollar for dollar, making each dollar raised result in a $4 addition to the Endowment.  In 2005, the Club was successful in once again raising the funds to receive the full matching amount from the San Angelo Area Foundation.  We are delighted to offer this $1,500 scholarship, renewable for up to four years, to an Aggie student from our area each year.  The Endowed Scholarship is administered by the San Angelo Area Foundation, and recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee of the San Angelo A&M Mothers’ Club.
